Are you a GP looking for flexible locum work within a supportive, well-organised, and forward-thinking practice?

We are expanding our GP Locum Bank and would love to hear from experienced, motivated clinicians who are interested in working with us on an occasional, regular, or short-term basis.

Based in the beautiful South Lakes, The James Cochrane Practice offers a friendly team environment, well-structured clinics, and a strong commitment to reducing unnecessary workload so clinicians can focus on patient care.

Supported Clinical Sessions

Our sessions are designed to be manageable and well-supported:

  • Typically 12 x 15-minute appointments per session
  • Admin time built into the working day
  • Home visits generally limited to one per session where required
  • No routine duty doctor responsibilities
  • Experienced care navigation, administrative and multidisciplinary team support

Practice Nurse (Bank)

Flexible sessions

We are looking to expand our Bank Nursing Team and are seeking an experienced, motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive practice on a flexible, as-needed basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who enjoys variety and working within a well-organised primary care setting. Located in Kendal offering excellent access to the Lake District National Park — ideal for those seeking outdoor lifestyle balance alongside clinical work.

 

The Role

Flexible bank sessions to support service demand, including holiday and sickness cover and seasonal vaccinations. You will be expected to work independently and confidently across a range of core practice nursing duties.

 

Core Skills Required: Applicants must be experienced and competent in:

  • Childhood Immunisations
  • Travel health and immunisations
  • Routine injections (e.g. B12, depot)
  • Cervical smears
  • Wound care and dressings
  • Seasonal flu/ Covid vaccinations
  • Phlebotomy

 

Rate - £23.53 per hour inclusive of holiday allowance, depending on experience and responsibilities.
